Roison Murphy!

Ok, if you haven't heard this woman's music, you should because it is very unique and interesting.
(btw, i get all this music on www.projectplaylist.com - i have 4 playlists and counting, i add everyone song i hear about or hear on a show/in a movie/ in an ad on TV)

so Wade Robson used her song "Ramalama (Bang Bang)" for the So You Think You Can Dance Season 2 finale dance and after that i looked her up and stuff, and she is cool (ahem, not as cool as wade, who i LOVE).

sooo, yeah.
the song i have on one of my playlists by her is "Ruby Blue"

he has used like 2 of her songs on the show, he must like her.

that's about all i have to say about that though.

j. crew jackets

...are more stylish than i expected them to be
actually, the whole store is more stylish than i thought it was a year ago, when i didnt shop there because i year before that i was too skinny to fit into it (ah...those days...)

so to test out ease of picture posting
here are my faves

whoa, so that uploading thing is pretty much a pain

this one is my favorite, it's $225 and comes in 3 other colors.

this one is the famed Balenciaga -ahem- *inspired* haha.
navy (the one that looked more similar) sold out superfast, but this one is still nice, and $250

this last one is the one i have, i love this so much.
my boobs do not sag (yet) like this models', so it looks better.
haha.
i love blogs.

so yes, hope these may have provided some inspiration?

I'm not going to repeat what the site says, just read the FAQ (in the top right corner) and then play the game (play it a lot :D)
All I'm going to say is this is pretty much the best idea, ever.
My friend told me about this

Comments on it? :D

nytimes style

if you have never picked up this magazine,
and you are interested in fashion,
you must.

it's called T Styles, you can look at it in their website.
just pick up the sunday times and theres a different supplement issue sometimes, they have a style, sports, design, and men's fashion issue along with the usual magazine (which is equally wonderful).

obviously, since it's the nytimes, everything is written superbly, and the fashion articles never make me feel shallow or guilty for reading so much about fashion.

im too far north so i cant get anything other than sunday delivered (which is really overpriced, even for 2 magazines and like 6 sections. on second thought maybe not :P) but i get the magazine from my english teacher (a nytimes enthusiast), so its all good.

hope you check it out, tell me what you like i have this sunday's design issue.

heroes

wow, im pretty slow on the cultural-phenomenon uptake.
i just started watching episodes of this on my laptop on saturday, from netflix instant-viewing thing.
this show is so amazing
for some reason i get freaked out at blood and needles but the over-the-top gore of this show isn't so bad becuase it looks so horrifically unreal, i guess it doesnt affect me so much.

anyways, i love the character development, everyone is so unique and intriguing and wonderful. the characters really do make the show, theyre not all pretty-similar-with-just-different-personalities like some other shows, and theyre still not cartoons of themselves. this is so refreshing,
now i'm hooked :]

the ballet look

so right now i love the dancer look
now i know, this is kind of old. it's been in style for 3 or 4 seasons now, but i just recently remembered it and saw some things in the November issue of Teen Vogue that reminded me of it.
by the way, i am a dancer--i take tap, jazz, modern, and choreography and in the past i have taken ballet and acrobatics classes with individual classes in african modern, salsa, and yoga.

anyways

so the ideal dancer look involves the basic black cutoff tights (cut right on the calf, semi sheer, nice if they have a little run in them or are a little scraggly) and a leotard to go under the rest of the look. dancers prefer solid colored leotards that are very plain (usually black, but you don't have to do that. you're going for a look, which means it isnt actually all that accurate).

over this (to make it decent) i would wear a wrap sweater and, although most bottoms would look awkward with this and it would be easier to just not wear any at all, you might look a little weird unless you either are extremely confident or live in a large city, you could wear tiny cottom shorts in a sweats fabric that are tight. you could also wear a denim mini, which would look pretty cute.

this is so delicate it can only handle a thin bracelet or chain necklace with a delicate pendant, something like those classic little tiffany silver items (which a billion preppy girls have, but ah well its quite fitting. noted there are also a billion little ballet dancing girls)

and i saved the harshest for last.
i must say this because i dont want to encourage something that will not look good on you.
this look is pretty much for skinny girls.
:(
i won't do this again,
i hate the industry for slimming down our point of view and all those modeling agencies for telling gorgeous girls they need to lose weight (or fix their nose or boobs or smile for that matter) but i'll save that cliche rant for another day when i cant think of anything.
